Twilight Updates

Two days away from Twilight and a few updates for race times.

  • Freshman boys race at 4:30 pm followed by the freshman girls at 4:45 pm
  • Boys open 2 race at 6:30 pm
  • Girls open 1 race at 7 pm
  • Championship race times still the same

Bus departs at 2pm.

Boosters will be providing pizza for the athletes around 7 pm. Remember to save some for the championship runners! There will be plenty of snacks and drinks for the runners to power them through the afternoon/evening/night!

Look at the Desert Twilight page for the most up to date information. Here is the latest from the site about parking:
NO PARKING ON SITE!! The gate security will NOT allow any spectators to drive in and drop off. (LET YOUR PARENTS KNOW) Please let everyone know to park across the entrance off of Southern Rd. between Power and Higley There are a number of shopping malls, restaurants etc to park at. Some literally like 200 yards from the start line.

Help needed for Twilight

We need at least one more parent volunteer to help set up for Twilight!! This volunteer will follow the bus at 2pm to the golf course and set up the extra food, water and supplies being brought for the athletes. Twilight is the meet the athletes look forward to each season! It is a big event and exciting event. Hopefully everyone had a great week with the break from racing and used the time to get some rest to recover/stay healthy! Here are the details for everyone’s favorite race — Desert Twilight on Friday, 9/30 at Coyote Run Golf Course in Mesa.

  • Bus departs Corona at 2 pm. Kids will be excused from class after 6th hour (1:30 pm)
  • Freshman run at 4:30 and 4:45
  • Open boys run either at 6:15, 6:30 or 6:45 (Coaches will update time when they get the final details)
  • Open girls run either at 7:00 or 7:15 pm
  • Varsity girls (Championship race) run 9:00 pm
  • Varsity boys (Championship race) run at 9:15 pm

Parking details have not been released yet for the meet, so check the website later in the week. Desert Twilight


  • Both the boys and girls will be practicing after school every day starting today, 9/26.
  • Booster Meeting TONIGHT at 6 pm, Barro’s Pizza on Warner/Kyrene. Come join us to help plan the banquet as well as consider joining the Boosters for the 2023 season.

50/50 Raffle Fundraiser:
Only 3 weeks left to continue fundraising for YOUR cross country team. We are currently at $4340. Drawing will occur on Oct. 14th.

  • Tuesday and Thursday practice times are changing to after school. Boys will now be practicing after school every day through the end of the season. Girls will switch starting Tuesday, 9/27 to every day after school.
  • No race this Saturday. Long run instead @ 7am. Location TBD.

Ojo Rojo:
Another great race by all our athletes! Congratulations to all! What a fun morning to celebrate our seniors as well. If you want to see the Senior Program, it can be found here: Senior Program

50/50 Raffle Fundraiser:
Continue your fundraising efforts! The fundraiser closes on Oct. 14th and a winner will be announced. All the proceeds go directly to supporting the athletes. There has been no fee paid to participate in XC this season.

  • Thank you to the Waters family for hosting the pasta dinner. The kids had games to play and a yard to spread out in while eating a ton of pasta and desserts.

  • Monday, 9/26: Booster Meeting at Barro’s Pizza on Warner/Kyrene @ 6 pm. We will be discussing the banquet and more. Positions are open for next season.
  • Friday, 9/30: Desert Twilight Meet under the lights — Coaches will provide more details closer to the race.
  • Monday, 10/3-Friday, 10/7: Fall Break — optional practices.
  • Thursday, 10/13: Titan Invite
