News and Announcements

Calling all distance runners!

We will be volunteering again at the Mesa Marathon on Saturday, Feb. 4th at Mile 4.5 aid station. We need a MINIMUM of 20 volunteers to fill cups, hand out water & Gatorade to the runners and clean up after. The more the merrier as it gets hectic when the bulk of the runners come through the aid station. The morning goes by quickly and before you realize, the runners are onto the next aid station and you are done.

For our time from 5:45 -8:10 am the team will get $1500, which covers all of our race entries for the 2023 season!

We want the 20 spots to be filled by XC runners with a few parents to help out with carpooling and supervising. This is a great opportunity for those kids who need volunteer hours (especially the juniors and seniors). Seniors, this is your chance to leave your legacy to the runners you have been mentoring these past years!

Please let David Rice (Brody’s Dad), d.rice@outlook.com, know your interest and he will send out the final details about carpooling and more. There is no age limit, so younger siblings are welcome to join! This is a great opportunity to give back to the running community!!

End of Season Announcements

Posted by Corona Del Sol Cross Country at Nov 17, 2022 3:15PM PST

Congratulations to all the athletes on a great season! Even though State didn’t turn out the way many of the runners had envisioned, they didn’t quit and finished the season to the best of their abilities! Thank you to our Coaches for all the support and guidance provided to the kids every day. It is greatly appreciated!

Best wishes to all our Senior Athletes as they move on to college! Hopefully all of them will continue running and competing. There are plenty of local races for them to shine in; whether they stay in state or out of state.

Thank you to our sponsors — Raising Cane’s and Sole Sports. Please visit them if you can!

Banquet
We all wished there was a bit more sun making it into the Pavilion for the banquet as it was a bit brisk for our brunch! It was a great way to recognize our athletes for their efforts throughout the season. The mini-donut truck and burritos were a big hit! Thank you to our Boosters for organizing and the volunteers that helped make it memorable.

Pictures
Remember to upload pictures to the Shutterfly site from the banquet and State meet. Thank you to all the parents who took photos and uploaded them as well as Maria Gonzales and Hannah Garcia for being team photographers, capturing moments that we do not always observe.

Fundraising
Please check out our No-Cost Fundraising links on our website. We participate in Amazon Smile and Fry’s VIP Program. You can earn money for the team year round with no cost to you!* If you have not made a tax credit donation yet this year, please consider giving to Corona Cross Country.* This tax credit donation can be made through the Corona Bookstore. Make sure you select Corona Cross Country. Tax credit money helps us pay for our incredible assistant coaches. More information and links to the programs are available on our website.

Stay tuned for more information about helping at the Mesa Marathon on Feb. 4, 2023. We plan on doing an aid station again and earn some money handing out water, Gatorade and gels to the runners. Those who helped last year had a lot of fun and it was over before we even knew it. It is a great way to give back to the running community as well as earning some volunteer hours (hint, hint…juniors and seniors).

Booster Board
Please welcome your 2023 Booster Board members. The Board helps the team in many ways by making sure the athletes are supported throughout the season and allowing the Coaches to focus on coaching. Please continue to support your new board by volunteering to make it a great 2023 season for all the athletes.

  • Co-Presidents: Emily Horton (Aubrey) and Lauren Stewart (Addi)
  • Secretary: Monique Zurga (Maddie)
  • VP of Fundraising: Greg Garcia (Hannah, Sophia)
  • VP of Team Support: Patti Brow (Zachary, Joshua)
  • Treasurer: Marie Le Faou (Malo, Brieuc)

Thank you to the out-going Board members: Lyndee Tisinger, Janell Davies, and Andrea Sywak. Your time and efforts for the past seasons are greatly appreciated!

Finally, THANK YOU to all the parent volunteers that supported the Boosters and Coaches this season. We could not have done it without your support!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and Happy Holidays!
