News and Announcements

Please read through this entire announcement:

Corona XC FINALLY has the Green Light to practice together as a team on Campus. The Coaches are super excited to see the kids and get some work in!

The following information will provide the rules and regulations for next week:

The Boys and Girls will both be meeting this coming Tuesday and Thursday for practice at Corona (7/21 and 7/23). We will be meeting at 6am SHARP! Athletes are still expected to run on their own, or with their groups on MWF and Saturday.

This practice is highly recommended, but it IS NOT required. If an Athlete and/or their Parent(s) are not comfortable around others at this time, that is understandable.

Athletes are required to get their temperature taken before we practice. Coach Smith will be doing this by the tennis courts. After temps, the Girls will head to the track and the Boys will stay by the tennis courts.

Athletes need to bring their own water as none will be provided by the school, following district policy, at this time.

Athletes must bring a mask and wear it before and after practice. All Athletes must leave as soon as possible following practice. Loitering on Campus is not allowed due to Covid.

Time Trial: We will be having an Aztec XC Time Trial. This will occur Saturday August 29th at 6am. This time trial will help the Coaches decide who starts the season on Varsity and JV. Please make sure you are able to attend.

Corona del Sol Aztec Families:

Based on input from school Athletic/Activities Directors and the District Office, we have made the decision to pause all athletic strength and conditioning programs at this time. All programs will be allowed to finish out this current week, and will then resume on Monday, July 20 if conditions allow.

Athletic/Activities Directors and the District Office will be monitoring the number of COVID cases in our wider community in order to make the decision to resume.  During the next two weeks, please protect yourselves, so you can protect your teammates.

If you have any questions, please contact your head coach and/or the athletics office.

As I’m sure everyone has heard. The district has shut down call on campus practices. Coach Smith and I are still allowed to give workouts to Athletes as we have been doing the past few weeks. As I hear more information and dates, I will communicate with everyone. Keep working Athletes!

Corona Girls XC, Training Information

Posted by Brian Crane at Jun 27, 2020 4:19PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Hi all!

It was great to see many of our athletes this past Thursday. I wanted to clarify a few things for the Girl’s side of Cross Country for summer training:

The TUHSD is still in Level 1 for summer training. Which means, a Certified trainer MUST take the temperature of each athlete before they practice with others on campus. Cross Country is waiting to train as a team at Corona until the District is at Level 2. This has been decided by the Athletic Director and Coach Smith and I.

1. The Girls ARE NOT required to train with a specific group, or at any specific location. This is entirely up to the Athlete and their parent. If the Athlete AND OR Parent is uncomfortable with this, it is entirely their choice.

2. There will be no penalty for Athletes who train by themselves. Again, it is up to the individual and their parents.

3. If an Athlete needs help finding a group to workout with, I am more than happy to help with that.

I will be texting out the workout this evening to all the girls. Ideally they will start this program this coming Monday. I encourage all parents and athletes to contact me with any questions or concerns about the training.

I hope this helps clear any question up. If you need anything, please email me: sdaztecs92115@yahoo.com
