We are hosting the City Meet and are in need of course volunteers. There will be only one boys race (3:00) and one girls race (3:45). Please sign up to help guide the athletes or to hand out cold towels here: CityMeet

Picture Day/Uniform Turn In (Non_Varsity) Thursday October 24th
Picture day and uniform turn in will be Thursday at normal practice. Non-varsity athletes (and Varsity) should still continue their work outs, especially if they are running Nike Cross.

Nike cross sign-up/$10 payment due by Thursday October 24th
Payment (cash/check) can be handed to boosters at City Meet or at picture day.

2019 Annual Banquet November 20
Our annual Banquet this year is on Wednesday, November 20th @ 6pm in the Corona Cafeteria. A flyer was sent home with your athlete last week and is also attached to this Newsletter. There is an online RSVP/payment feature on your TeamPages Website here Banquet Registration 2019. Please RSVP even if you’re not attending in order to have an accurate headcount. Nike Cross November 23rd
The Nike Cross Regional Meet is Saturday, November 23 at the Grande Sports Complex in Casa Grande.

Hot Chocolate Volunteering December 15th
Please help us continue this great tradition and volunteer for the Hot Chocolate 5k/15k on December 15th. We have worked this fun event the past several years and we have made a commitment to have 50 volunteers there. Corona Cross Country earns $10 per volunteer! In the past, we have worked one of the water stations but the location has changed to downtown Phoenix so we’re not quite sure of our jobs this year. Athletes, family and friends are all invited to help. Sign up here HotChocolate and hope to see you there!

XC Booster Board Members/Volunteers Needed for Next Year
We are in need of board members and volunteers for next year. Board positions open are President, VP Fundraising and Treasurer. We also have a variety of other jobs through the season. Nike Cross November 23rd
The Nike Cross Regional Meet is Saturday, November 23 at the Grande Sports Complex in Casa Grande. Girls run at 8:51am and boys at 9:51am. No bus service is provided, however, there are always plenty of carpools available if needed. This is an optional meet and we must compete as a club team – no HS uniforms allowed. The boosters will be purchasing race singlets and long-sleeve t-shirts for this event. We are asking athletes to contribute $10 towards their shirts as a commitment to participate in the race. We will only be purchasing singlets and t-shirts for those who sign up and pay their $10. (Note, you may still participate without the club singlet.) If money is an issue, please let your coach know. The deadline to pay is Thursday, October 24th. You may pay by cash/check directly to the booster club at one of the upcoming meets or on the 24th. Checks can be made out to Corona Cross Country Boosters Club. A flyer will be going home today with the athletes. Thank you!

Desert Twilight
After much needed rain throughout the week, the weather broke and provided excellent conditions for another great meet! Congratulations to the athletes!

Aztecs Volunteer at Kyrene District Meet @ Aprende Thursday 10/3
Reminder: Some of our Aztecs will be helping out at Aprende for the District Meet from about 4-6pm. They can run or drive there and be picked up at Aprende or ride back with the coaches and be picked up at Corona.

The Desert Twilight Meet is Friday night. Come out to Grande Sports World and cheer on our team at this large, very fun event! The race schedule is as follows:

4:30 Boys Frosh Large School
4:45 Girls Frosh Large School
6:15 Boys Open Large School 1
6:45 Girls Open Large School 1
8:25 Girls Championship (Varsity)
9:25 Boys Sweepstakes (Varsity)

The bus will leave Corona at 2:00pm and return around 11:30pm.

COMING UP:

Meet on Friday night – Desert Twilight
The athletes will miss 7th period and will need to make arrangements with their teachers to make up missed work. The bus usually leaves around 2pm and returns around 11:30pm. The boosters will provide pizza, snacks, and drinks for the athletes. Desert twilight meet information can be found here: Desert Twilight. We are Large School Frosh, Large School Open. Varsity races are not set yet. Parents – traffic can back up and it may take time to find a parking spot, so be sure to allow plenty of time to arrive to see your athlete. More details on specific times will be sent soon.
