Bus Schedule for Saturday

The first meet is upon us! The bus will be leaving Corona at 5:45am on Saturday. Please make sure you are there a few minutes early. If you miss the bus, you will not compete! The bus will be returning around 11-11:30am. Please be on time to pick up your athlete, as the coaches will have to wait until everyone is gone. It is a good idea to have your athlete text you when they are leaving Tumbleweed Park.

Parents, if you have received the t-shirts you ordered, but have not yet paid, please send payment with your athlete to the dinner tomorrow evening or pay at the meet on Saturday. There is usually a booster board member near the tents throughout the meet. You can pay with cash or a check made out to “Corona Cross Country Boosters Club”.

An email was sent last night with the address for the team dinner tomorrow evening. If you did not receive the message, please email Kristi at kristijohn@hotmail.com for the address.

$50 SEASON PAYMENT
The bookstore is now ready to accept your $50 sports fee. You can pay in the bookstore with cash/check or pay online: website for instructions on how to pay online.

UNIFORM DISTRIBUTION TUES/WED
Athletes who have Corona equipment out from previous sports WILL NOT receive their Cross Country uniform until either, the uniform is turned in, or all fines are paid!!!!

- Boys will be receiving their uniforms Tuesday, September 3rd at 2:30.

- Girls will be receiving their uniforms Wednesday, September 4th at 2:30.

Both groups should meet at the equipment office, which is next to the boys locker room near the basketball gym.

If you think your son or daughter has unreturned equipment, please contact our equipment manager, Alexis Samuels, before our uniform distribution date. Her email is: asamuels@tuhsd.k12.az.us

Team T-Shirt Distribution WEDNESDAY
Team T-Shirts will be handed out at the end of practice on Wednesday. If you ordered extra shirts for family members, please send in your payment (if you have not already paid) with your athlete or bring it when you come to pick them up. We should have some extra shirts to sell, but will need to ensure that all athletes get their T-Shirts first. Shirts are $12 ($14 for size 2XL). You can also send in your $20 snack donation that day. If you have any questions regarding the T-Shirts, please email coronadelsolxc@gmail.com.

Pasta Dinner on FRIDAY
The Pasta Dinner will be this Friday the 6th at the Johnson’s house, 6-8pm (thanks to them!!). The address will be mailed separately, later in the week.
Still looking for a host family for September 13th. As a reminder, the boosters buy all the food, come to your house and cook/serve, then clean up after! We can have all the kids in a back yard, and can provide extra tables and chairs if needed. Please consider hosting a dinner and contact Vicki Montana at vbmontana@me.com.

Chandler Invite SATURDAY
The Chandler Invitational on Saturday, September 7th will be our first meet of the season. There are Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior races at this meet. More information and times on all of our meets can be found HERE. In addition, please sign up to hand out ice-cold towels to the Corona althetes at the finish line (towels will be provided). It is the best spot to watch the race! Sign-Up

Weekly XC News - August 26

Thank You!
A huge thank you to the Montana Family for hosting yet another fun pool party (on their anniversary nonetheless)!! We appreciate your generosity. It was a fun time – check out the pictures on our Shutterfly Share Site, https://coronadelsolcrosscountry.shutterfly.com/, password “aztecs”.

Parent Meeting Follow-Up
If you were unable to make the parent meeting last week, please download the attached parent handout and read through the information. We ask parents for a $20 donation per athlete to help cover snack/meal costs throughout the season. That is it for fundraising! The donation can be brought to practice this Friday, or to the pasta dinner next Friday.

We had a black ThermoFlask left on the table where we were selling t-shirts after the parent meeting. If it is yours, please contact Kristi at kristijohn@hotmail.com.

Sole Sports Discount Night!!
Sole Sports will be having a special discount night on Wednesday for Corona Cross Country. They will offer a 20% discount on all store items except Garmin watches, which will be 10% off. Stop by from 5pm to 8pm to get new training shoes, racing flats or clothing. Sole Sports has always been a big supporter of Corona Cross Country and we are fortunate to have such a great running store close by. Please show them your gratitude by giving them your business.

Team Pasta Dinners
We are still looking for two families to host a team dinner at their home (in their backyard). The boosters will buy all the food, cook the food and clean up before leaving. They will bring tables, chairs and anything else you might need. It is a fun time for the kids and the booster parents as well. If you are interested in hosting a dinner on September 14th or 21st, please contact Vicki Montana at vbmontana@me.com. We will have a sign-up soon for volunteers to help cook and serve.

Tax Credit Reminder
Please consider giving a tax credit donation to Corona Cross Country. This money is used to pay for 2 of our coaches. Please direct your money to the GIRLS team this year, even if you have a boy. Pool Party on Saturday!

All athletes are invited to attend the Team Pool Party on Saturday afternoon, from 4 to 7pm. Just bring your suit and towel and have some fun! Food and drinks are provided by the boosters.
