Absent Athletes

Posted by Corona Del Sol Cross Country at Sep 21, 2018 9:04AM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Hello CdS XC parents. The Coaches are super excited with the progress the Athletes are making so far this season! They are all working very hard to reach their goals. Keep up the good work!!!

We also wanted to communicate what our attendance policy will be for the rest of this XC season (starting Monday 9/24)

If a Varsity athlete misses practice the week of a meet, they WILL NOT be allowed to run at the varsity level for that meet. for example: If Athlete “A” misses practice this coming Monday (9/24) they will be allowed to run at Twilight, but not at the Varsity level. The following week, the absences will reset If they attend practice all week, they will still be running Varsity.

The Coaches have spent a lot of time trying to find a way to be fair for all athletes, as far as attendance.

After speaking to many other coaches on Corona’s campus, this is how the majority of sports handle their attendance policy.

We spoke with the Athletes about this policy at yesterday’s practice and they all agreed.

If you have any questions, please contact Coach Crane or Coach Smith for details.

GO AZTECS!!!!

P.S. I forgot to mention, all athletes are allowed to miss practice due to an act of God, death in the family (hopefully not), car accident (hopefully not), etc.

Also, they are allowed 1 school sanctioned event per season as an absence as well. For example: NJS, going to a school event for a grade, etc.
