Corona Aztec XC Summer Preseason Training

2019 CdS Cross Country Preseason

We will be training every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (evening), and Saturday morning (off campus). M,Tu,W we will train from 6am-8am. Thursday’s, we will train from 6pm-7:30pm. Saturday’s we will be training early morning from 5:30am-7:45am. We will be meeting in the Corona senior parking lot by the benches near the tennis courts. The exception will be on Saturday’s where we rotate between, South Mountain, Papago Park, or Tumbleweed Park.

During the month of June we will most likely be releasing athletes early. The further we get into preseason, the longer we run, so this may increase to the full release time.

Every Friday and Sunday we will not meet, however athletes are expected to get mileage in on their own.
Training this preseason will consist of:
1. Gradual increase of mileage as preseason progresses.
2. Strength training which will be aimed at increasing core and overall strength.
3. Cross Country specific speed and endurance workouts to help prepare athletes for the 2019 season.

The Coaches’ Motto for our team this season is Commitment. We expect all athletes to be committed to our summer preseason Cross Country program.
