XC Meet this weekend, info

Posted by Corona Del Sol Cross Country at Sep 16, 2020 9:42AM PDT ( 1 Comment )

Hello Aztecs and Parents!

Each meet we enter may have different health requirements than the next. Please take the time to read this information so we can continue to compete this season.

Here is the email from the meet director of the Equinox meet this weekend:

We have been working with the City of Gilbert to make this work. Our goal is to offer a meet where ALL your kids can run. Gilbert is asking that we DO NOT have team tents, they don’t want to cause an uproar by people driving on the road and seeing it. We ask that spectators do not come to the race. We need to limit those around the park. Also we ask that everyone wears masks when not running, this is a request from the City. We also ask that if possible wear a disposable mask to the line then as you are called to the line to start you can throw it down. We will have waves with 5 boxes for each wave. That means there will be 5 teams on the line. The teams were broken down mostly at random by size. We looked at sizes of heats to set the waves, so if you have 60 boys, and we are trying to keep the limit to 80 per race (roughly) then you are likely going to be on the line with 4 smaller teams. Each wave will go off 2 minutes apart. We ask that you show up 45 minutes before your session. I know I like more time to warm up too, but we are doing our best to get everyone done by noon before it gets too warm. Also please leave when done with cool-down and you get your awards and do not linger.

Our Athletes will be running in session 1, Girls 7:00 am and Boys 7:30 am. We are not allowed to arrive earlier than 6:15am. PLEASE BE ON TIME!

Please let us know if you have any questions.

GO AZTECS!!!!

Boosters will be on campus during practice on Monday, 9/14 from 3 pm- end of practice for team shirt sales, pick up of pre-orders, XC sticker sales, and previous season shirts. If you still need to make your donation to the team, drop off your cash or check at the table. Thanks!
