Desert Twilight Information

Posted by Corona Del Sol Cross Country at Sep 28, 2020 9:40AM PDT ( 3 Comments )

Hello everyone!

Here is the information for the Desert Twilight Meet, this Friday October 2nd. It will be held at the Links Golf Course in San Tan Valley.

https://maps.google.com/?daddr=Links%20Golf%20Course%20+445%20East%20Ocotillo+Queen%20Creek+AZ+85140

1. There will be 2 sessions on Friday and we will be taking a bus to each session. There will be 2 busses for the morning session so we can socially distance in the vehicles.

2. The 1st session is for our non Varsity runners and will be in the morning. The bus will be leaving at 5:25am. We are asking the Athletes to be at Corona in the senior lot by 5:15am. We are planning on returning around 11am. We will have the Athletes call parents when we are close to Corona.

3. The 2nd session is for Varsity runners and will be in the evening. The evening bus will be leaving at 4:15pm. We are asking Athletes to be at Corona at 4:00pm. We are planning on returning around 8:30pm.

4. If you are planning on driving your son or daughter to the meet we need to know by this Wednesday. Here are the drop off/pick up instructions.

Parent Drop off: take Ocotillo Road east just past the Ace Hardware at Ironwood Rd.
on the Southeast Corner, they will turn in behind Ace and proceed south all the way down until
they come to BIG O Tire at which time they will unload the Athlete. They will enter through a
gate that leads straight into the golf course. They will follow the fence line to the team camp
area.

5. Please remember, the meet director has been adamant that there will be no spectators at this meet. There will be no public parking available. Since this is a very large meet, the number of people allowed in the golf course is very limited and needs to be reserved for Coaches and Athletes. If you are taking your child to the meet, please plan for drop off and pick-up only.

6. We realize not being to attend the meet can be frustrating for parents, but we have to remember that this is a very different season with very different rules and regulations.

Please email Coach Smith or Coach Crane if you have any questions.

More Friday meet info:

Posted by Corona Del Sol Cross Country at Sep 23, 2020 9:40AM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Hello All!

All Athletes who are competing on Friday are excused from class until 12:30, which is the start of 6th period. With that being said, If an Athlete goes back to class earlier, that is absolutely allowed. Some Athletes will finish their race and be home sooner than others.

While we have no new information about Sectionals and State, here is the info we do have:

Sectionals will be the weekend of November 6th and is scheduled to be at Crossroads Park.

State will be the weekend of November 13th and no venue has been named.

Both these meets could be run on the Friday of that week, but we just do not know. As soon as we hear new information, we will share it with you.

Last, be advised that spectators have been discouraged from all meets so far. However, Desert Twilight is not allowing spectators at all. There will be no parking available at the venue. FYI
